Duplicate Line Remover

Remove duplicate lines from your text. Keep only the first occurrence of each unique line.

What is a Duplicate Line Remover?

A duplicate line remover is a tool that scans through your text and removes any lines that appear more than once, keeping only the first occurrence of each unique line. This is useful for cleaning up lists, data files, and any text where repetition is unwanted.

Options Explained

  • Case Sensitive: When enabled, "Apple" and "apple" are treated as different lines. When disabled, they are considered duplicates.
  • Trim Whitespace: Removes leading and trailing spaces from each line before comparing. " hello " and "hello" would be considered duplicates.
  • Preserve Empty Lines: Keep blank lines in the output instead of removing them.
  • Sort Alphabetically: Arrange the unique lines in alphabetical order after removing duplicates.

Common Use Cases

  • Email Lists: Remove duplicate email addresses from mailing lists
  • Data Cleaning: Deduplicate CSV data or log files
  • Code Cleanup: Remove duplicate imports or declarations
  • Keyword Lists: Create unique keyword lists for SEO
  • Database Prep: Clean data before importing to databases
  • Shopping Lists: Remove accidentally duplicated items

How It Works

The tool reads your text line by line and keeps track of lines it has already seen. When it encounters a line that matches a previous one (based on your selected options), it skips that line. The result is a clean list with only unique entries.

Privacy

All processing happens locally in your browser. Your text is never sent to any server, ensuring complete privacy for sensitive data like email lists or confidential information.
